Hey all!
It’s been almost two weeks of R&R in San Francisco, decompressing, digesting, and beginning to dream up this next year. A few details on that to come, but for now I wanted to throw out an invitation for the return party we’re having at my home in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. Any and all are welcome on October 6th to join in celebration, community, and general joy. You can show up at 6 Hillendale Road, Chadds Ford, PA around 2 PM. I’ll be getting in a bit after that, re-walking the first mile of the year’s journey on the train tracks (having been dropped off there after taking a train/bus from California, not walking back…this time). The potluck feast at Half Moon Bay was a huge, delicious success, so we’ll do that again; bring a little dish if you can.
If you’re an old friend from back home, can’t wait to see you again. If you’re a new friend from this walk, it’d be an honor to have you there. If you’re a friend from the interwebs, blogosphere, and social grapevine, looking forward to meeting you! My family will be there, including Uncle Kevin who gave me the first great quotation of the walk before it even started: “You can eat maggots, you know. They have great protein. And drink your urine, it’ll keep you hydrated. I want urine and maggots or else you failed,” and Uncle Frank, the remarkable first of maybe a thousand people to call me Forrest Gump.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
“Depth over distance every time, my dear
And this tree of ours may grow tall in the woods
But it’s the roots that will bind us here
To the ground” -Ben Howard

Well, at least Iknow what I’m bringing to the potluck…
We can’t wait to hug you…even if you have maggot breath! xo Aunt Jan
Wish I could have greeted you at either coast…I’m so proud of what you did! Looking forward to seeing you someday, so I can hear your stories…

Thanks, Colleen! Hope to see you someday, too.
Looking forward to seeing you, Andrew!
Plan on a big hug, Alison!
